July 14 Press Conference Summary

Current COVID-19 Case Numbers in North Dakota: 4,493 total positive cases, 720 active confirmed cases, 3,685 recovered, 88 deaths, 42 hospitalized

Focus: K-12 Smart Restart Guidance issued

• This gives local school boards the authority to decide how their school will operate during the 20-21 school year.
• Each school will need to develop a Health and Safety Plan and Distance Learning Plan.

• Weekly positive rate was 1.9%   
• Grants are available through ND Dept of Commerce
  • Economic Resiliency Grant (ERG) application cycle opens July 31, 2020
  • Technical Skills Training Grant application cycle opens July 20.
• PPP deadline is August 8. 

Other issues covered: Immunization requirements for youth attending school will not be relaxed or delayed. 160 out of 218 long-term care facilities are allowing enhanced visitation, There are only 15 active COVID-19 cases in long-term care facilities.
