    April 7 Press Conference Summary

    Current COVID-19 Case Numbers in North Dakota:(+12) 237 total, (+1) 4 deaths
    Speakers: Governor Burgum, Tim Brookings – Care19 App Creator, Mylynn Tufte – Director ND Health Department, Kirsten Baesler – State Superintendant  

    Focus: Contact tracing - CARE19 App released, contact tracing guidelines (individuals within 12 feet for 15 minutes, within 48 hours before symptoms) should result in self-quarantine 

    Additional points of note:

    • Unemployment Claims: 2,666 additional yesterday, 40,458 total
    • Minnesota was added as a state with widespread community infection per CDC guidelines. The current ND Dept of Health rule forces 14-day quartine order when returning from these designated areas. Governor Burgum pledged to make an exemption for MN residents working in ND.
