Policy Summit Preview: Voting Education
GNDCWednesday, August 12, 2026
EVENT LINK
Every election brings important decisions that shape North Dakota's future.
This fall, voters will consider constitutional amendments with potential implications for government, education, and public policy. Understanding what each measure does—and hearing directly from both perspectives—is an important part of being an informed voter.
That's why Ballot Briefs return to GNDC's Policy Summit on September 22, offering attendees a concise, balanced look at two statewide ballot measures before Election Day.
BALLOT BRIEFS
Rather than a debate, Ballot Briefs feature two back-to-back seven-minute presentations. Representatives from both the supporting and opposing campaigns will present their perspective, explain the potential impacts of each measure, not a debate but a view of the two perspectives.
This year's Ballot Briefs include:
Measure 1: 60% Threshold for Constitutional Amendments- In Favor: Speaker of the House Rep. Robin Weisz
- Opposed: Kathy Tweeten, League of Women Voters of North Dakota
- In Favor: Robin Nelson, Together for School Meals
- Opposed: Sen. Paul Thomas
