The decisions made during North Dakota's legislative session directly impact businesses across the state. Knowing how the process works makes it easier to understand how policy moves and how decisions are made.

GNDC has represented North Dakota businesses at the Capitol for decades, working through legislative sessions and alongside policymakers on issues affecting employers and the state's economy. Ahead of the 70th Legislative Assembly, we're putting that experience to work with Legislative 101, a focused 45-minute look inside the process behind policymaking in Bismarck.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
The session will follow the legislative process from Organizational Session through Sine Die (final gavel of session), including:

• How legislation moves from introduction to final action
• The roles of committees, hearings, caucuses, and legislative calendars
• Key deadlines and terminology
• Where and when stakeholders can engage in the process

The Legislature makes decisions that directly affect the cost and ease of doing business in North Dakota. Legislative 101 provides the context business leaders need to better understand the process, stay informed as issues develop, and add their perspective when it matters.
