GNDC Honors Legislator and Business with Awards at Policy Summit

[BISMARCK]  – The Greater North Dakota Chamber (GNDC) recognized Baker Boy and North Dakota House Majority Leader Mike Lefor during its annual Policy Summit on September 22 in Bismarck.
 
The awards recognize leadership from both the private and public sectors and the role each plays in strengthening North Dakota’s economy and business climate.
 
ND LEGISLATOR’S CHOICE BUSINESS AWARD – BAKER BOY
GNDC presented the North Dakota Legislator’s Choice Business Award, honoring a business nominated by legislators for its growth, innovation, and community impact. This year’s award, nominated by Senator Dean Rummel of Dickinson, who presented the recognition alongside GNDC.
 
Baker Boy was recognized for its continued investment in its people, operations and community. The Dickinson-based company has embraced technology and innovation to improve its operations while maintaining a strong focus on quality and service. Its commitment extends to its workforce through training, mentorship and career development, as well as to the broader community through charitable giving, volunteerism and support of local organizations, schools and events.
 
Guy Moos accepted the award on behalf of Baker Boy. Founded in 1955, Baker Boy has grown from a small North Dakota bakery into a manufacturer whose products are distributed across the country.
 
LEGISLATIVE VISION AWARD – HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER MIKE LEFOR
The Legislative Vision Award recognizes legislators willing to engage in complex policy discussions, consider the long-term consequences of decisions and work with North Dakota’s business community on issues affecting the state’s future.
 
This year, GNDC presented the award to House Majority Leader Mike Lefor. Lefor represents District 37 and serves as House Majority Leader and current member of Legislative Management and previous chair of the House Industry, Business, and Labor Committee.
 
Throughout his legislative service, Lefor has engaged with GNDC and the state’s business community on complex policy issues. GNDC recognized his willingness to listen to different perspectives and consider how policy decisions affect businesses, communities and North Dakota’s long-term economic growth.

The awards were presented during GNDC’s 15th annual Policy Summit, which brought together more than 385 attendees, including more than 300 business and economic development leaders, elected officials, candidates and representatives from government agencies.
