• GNDC Announces Addition of Two Board Members

The Greater North Dakota Chamber (GNDC) announces the appointment of two board members. Joining the board is Steve Swiontek – current Executive Chair of Gate City Bank, and Dan Conrad – Executive Vice President at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND). The appointments of these individuals bring the board membership to 26.

“The GNDC Board of Directors is comprised of an incredibly talented group of leaders representing business across the state. This is further demonstrated with the additions of Steve and Dan. We were impressed with their expertise and commitment to leadership within their organizations and communities,“ stated Arik Spencer, GNDC President and CEO. “We look forward to the contributions that they will bring to our current board in order to promote GNDC’s mission of ensuring the best business climate for North Dakota.”

Steve Swiontek has been with Gate City Bank for 42 years and currently is Executive Chair along with the Bank’s Board of Directors Chair. Steve has also served on the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors since 2014 and was President from 2017-2018.

“My community involvement began when I served in the North Dakota House of Representatives for eight years. Throughout my career, I have continued to remain active in a variety of community organizations as part of my personal commitment to make a difference,” stated Swiontek. “I admire the work the GNDC does to ensure our communities and economy remain at the forefront.”

Dan Conrad has been with BCBSND since July 2013. On January 2020, he will formally step into the CEO role at the organization, responsible for long-term vision and strategic planning activities.

“I am dedicated to serve the communities in which we live and work. I believe my professional and community service experience would help the GNDC continue to provide valuable resources and service to North Dakota business,” remarked Conrad.

    Their terms begin October 1.
